Deanna Tung
Founder
Deanna Tung has 20 years’ experience in the education industry, as a lecturer, examiner and in management. Armed with 3 diplomas in Music from Trinity College and the London Guildhall School of Music and Drama by the age of 18, she was accepted into the University of London, UK for a Bachelor of Music (Hons). Upon graduation, she started her career at the Yamaha Academy of Arts & Music, a wholly owned subsidiary of Yamaha Music Malaysia, to initially coordinate the curriculum for a degree programme and later served as Director of Studies. After 7 years, she moved to the International College of Music as an Associate Dean of Curriculum but remained as an examiner to date for Yamaha Music Foundation Japan.
In 2001, Deanna decided to continue her post-graduate studies at the University of Sheffield, UK, in Music Psychology. As a part-time lecturer for various institutions like Nilai International College, UITM, TAR College and UTAR, Deanna lectured in Musicology, Psychology and Ethnomusicology. During this time she was also a freelance consultant for various educational projects.
In 2003, she was appointed as a Performance Psychologist for 2 seasons on the Reality TV show ‘Audition’ on NTV 7, a talent-search for singers, actors and dancers for a musical. In 2006, Deanna joined Sara Beattie MDC, a Hong-Kong based training company, as the General Manager for Malaysia. In 2008, she left the company to join Kolej Dika, a private college, as Director of Operations. Up till July 2017 she headed the HR & Training Division for AGB Group of Companies, property developers for The Rice Miller Hotel and Residences in Penang, where she was responsible for all HR and Training matters for the group, as well as Global Leadership Consultants, a subsidiary training company specializing in hospitality courses as well as corporate training, where she holds the role of CEO.
After leaving AGB in 2017, Deanna decided to act as a freelance consultant for business start-ups as well as those looking for growth. In 2019 she founded Tactevo Consulting which provides consultancy services in various business aspects including HR audits and restructuring, Finance, Learning & Development.
